Our Name
Velarix,is the amalgamation of the three words, “Vesper” & “Larix” & “Elixir”.
VESPER :
Vesper means star, reminded of our school motto: Thou art the light of the world. We are inspired and it is our ambition to further develop the spirit of True Light girls. We hope to watch and to assist as it flourishes.

LARIX :
Larix stands for brave and warm. We chose it since our intention to induce you all to reach for a finer self, is of paramount importance. Needless to say, our aim is to make use of our enthusiasm, to induce you all to reach for a finer self.

ELIXIR :
Just like the word, we are determined to improve the overall quality of the students, meanwhile preserving the youth in us. It would be the greatest honour and pleasure, to be of service, to shine as bright as a star perpetually.

Our Mission
Fulfilling the responsibilities as True Light bearers:
It’s the 50th anniversary of our school in the coming academic year,which will be a huge milestone. As True Light bearers, we promise to take up the responsibility of embracing True Light spirits.We will contribute the utmost efforts to serve the school, to sustain the True Light legacy.Meanwhile,we shall step into the new era with True Light.
Providing students a fruitful year:
Due to the pandemic, numerous events and proposed activities have been cancelled. Even though there’re countless uncertainties in life, time waits for no one. During our serving year, we will try our best to organize more events like the fashion show,True Light Song Competition, also coming up with new activities in order to bring back the precious memories and flourish students' school lives.
Being the bridge between students & the school:
We believe that communication is the key to connect the school and fellow schoolmates. Therefore, it is our obligation to carry out the wishes of both parties. We play our role by collecting a range of opinions from students via different platforms such as Instagram, Google form, democratic board, etc, and directly voice out to the school for creating a harmonious learning environment.
Our Mission
Cultivating students' sense of belonging:
In the coming school year, there will be myriad events arranged by the student union, which both students and teachers are encouraged to participate in. Through organizing diverse activities, we strive to ameliorate students’ mentality, build up friendships between them, enrich their school lives and further develop their sense of belonging as a part of the True Light Family.
To take care students' needs:
In order to satisfy the needs and wants of our schoolmates, Velarix will comprehensively provide welfare and services, including stationery, food, clothes, accessories, and even more, from various online shops, retail stores and restaurants. As money doesn't grow on trees, we hope to let students benefit from the welfare and reduce their financial burden, especially in the face of adversity.
Listen, Reflect, Improve:
Last but not least, we advocate the freedom for students to express their opinions and views towards Velarix for constant improvement of the student union.We will take all comments into account with an accepting mind and learn from mistakes.With perseverance and courage, our cabinet is determined to overcome the challenges, to serve the school and help the True Light Stars to continue shine even brighter.
